About
LifeWalker Mobility Products - Creator of the original upright walkers that allow users to walk further with less pain experiencing an improved, more active and safer lifestyle.
ProtoStar, Inc., DBA LifeWalker Mobility Products with headquarters in San Diego, is a leader in personal mobility innovation focused on the design, manufacture, and distribution of a new category of assistive mobility products known as “upright walkers”. The Company's breakthrough products are designed to enable users to walk upright in a safer, more secure posture as compared to traditional walkers and rollators that cause users to hunch over.
As an accomplished businessman, Dave Purcell developed the LifeWalker® Upright in February 2016 after witnessing his aging wife struggle with unsafe rollators and walkers. In January 2017 a new management team led by CEO Craig Shugert, took this upright concept and designed a series of compact consumer products branded as UPWalker®. In November 2017, LifeWalker launched the revolutionary original UPWalker that was so well received by consumers it became the disruptive platform for a new category of consumer-focused walker/rollators.
With lighter weight models including adjustable-height armrests, brakes, a seat, eight-inch wheels and padded sit-to-stand handles, the stylishly designed UPWalker series of products are ISO11199-3 certified safe for both indoor daily use and outdoor active living. UPWalkers are easy to maneuver, lightweight and foldable for convenient storage and transport. Standard accessories include a beverage holder, backrest and personal carry bag. Optional accessories include a cane holder, flashlight, smartphone holder, luxury carry bag and shopping bag. The UPWalker family of products has been expanded to include senior fitness equipment, neurological units, upright posture canes, motion activated lights for safety, and much more.
In May 2019, LifeWalker introduced the UPWalker Lite, a lighter weight, smaller profile and lower priced version of the original UPWalker especially well-suited for indoor use.
According to clinical research conducted by the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, the unique design of the LifeWalker Upright with forearm support reduces pain in the wrists, back and leg joints as compared to traditional walkers, and the upright position enables the user to walk farther with less effort.
LifeWalker has received best new product awards from Orthopedics This Week and HME Business magazines.
The Company’s mission is to improve the lives of people who need assistance with walking, including the elderly and mobility-challenged users with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular and other health disorders.
